RWE Generation NL

Swentibold is one of our CHPs (combined heat and power plant) and has been in operation since 1999.  This power plant, on the Chemelot industrial park in Geleen, forms part of the group of RWE Generation's industrial customer power plants.

Using a gas turbine and steam turbine, the power plant generates electricity with a maximum capacity of 230 MWe. The unit also produces steam (140 bar/525˚C and 18 bar/300˚C) by heating demi-water with combustion gases from the gas turbine and by firing natural gas in the waste heat boilers. The maximum generation capacity for steam is 300 tonnes per hour. Steam and electricity are being distributed to the customers on site by USG.
